The Regulus I missile was a turbojet-powered guided missile designed to be launched from a submarine and deliver a nuclear warhead to an inland target. The flight test missiles, fleet training missiles, and target drones had retractable wheels and a parabrake to permit recovery and reuse in multiple fights. Design of Regulus I started in 1947. The first flight was in November of 1950.
